Minor
service
This is usually done at the interval of the common oil change.
The interval may not necessarily be at 3,000 miles. Some cars
can go as far as 10,000 miles. However far, we can assure
you that an oil change alone is not enough. It doesn't take
much to look at everything else and make sure you wont have
any problems until your next visit. This is also usually a
good time to rotate the tires.
- Intermediate service
The “in-between” service where other filters may
need replacing. This is usually done at every 3rd or 4th oil
change interval, or directly between the major service intervals.
More extensive system testing and inspection is done.
- Major service
Usually the most expensive. This is the replacement for the
“tune-up” that existed on cars in the past. There
are few adjustments on modern cars, most of what was in a “tune-up”
is now controlled by the on board electronics. Other services
are combined with this. Most, if not all, of the fluids, the
spark plugs, and all filters are changed. Owners probably only
need to worry about this service around 90,000 miles.
